Discussion about
We are looking to renovate our small kitchen in brooklyn. I know there is a huge range of prices, but just looking for some ballpark numbers. Here are the details: 72 sq feet. No breaking or moving of walls or pipes. Replacing floor tile, counter top, cabinetery, and appliances
I think it would be easier for a contractor to give a rough estimate, without seeing the space, if you could provide a linear footage of cabinets/countertops. The low end of the range is probably around $30k, and as you said there is a huge range, you could also easily spend $60k or more. We have been installing IKEA in more and more projects, then we upgrade on appliances and fixtures.
You could get all the cabinets from IKEA for 2-3 thousand, a solid surface countertop will be 2-3 thousand more, and then an "okay" appliance package could be around $6 or 7k. There are plenty of decent porcelain tiles for $5-$15/SF. Nice sinks and faucets get expensive, but again a range, from $100-$150 from home depot to $1000 and more. Then of course there is the labor/install.
The labor can be anywhere from10k-15k for a licensed contractor. That includes all plumbing and electric as well
