Hi Readers,
Recently I have seen several apartments at The Colonnade on 57th Street between 8th and 9th Ave. either for rent or for purchase. It appears to have many nice features for a post war building including balconies with many of the one bedroom units, (which are nice on high floors there, but I find depressing on the lower floors as they are obstructed by another building and receive little light).
That being said I am wondering if any of you live there or know people that do and what the owners and renter comments are both positive and negative about the building, the way it is run, and general comments about life there.
As they say "don't judge a book by it's cover", so perhaps you can give me any inside infomation ahead of time from those in the know about this particular Condo building.

I had a friend who rented there. No light in the lower floor apartments, but the building is quite convenient to the subway and Wholefoods. Staff very helpful to the residents.

It's such a totally convenient area. The subway is right there, park really close. 57th has a LOT of traffic though, check the sound-proofing.

I live here..depends on where you face..plenty of light on low floors facing south..i am on 6th floor...
