I am quite happy with Alarm.com. It's a monitored system- pricing in line with more well known national brands. It has a few advantages that sold me on the system- most notably that it used a radio signal rather than a telephone line. When I moved in, I decided to go cellular only in place of a household phone. I really had no interest in paying Verizon for a line I had no use for other than just for the alarm system. Alarm.com was also much more flexible in interaction on the fly and can integrate home automation features better.

Free year service with equipment purchase approx $200
wireless and it uses broadband or TEL or Cellphone

After free year, it's about $10/month

Triggered a false alarm, police came within 45sec.

"Triggered a false alarm, police came within 45 sec.".... It's not realistic to count on the police always responding that quickly in New York City. Any monitored system should contact the police immediately after they have confirmed a threat.

As with any system consideration, you must weigh the pro's and con's appropriately.
