5k in those neighborhoods will not get you a 2/2 that could be considered a "good deal". They're expensive.

Define "good deal".

Kicking alanhart's search up to $6000 as there are plenty more that you can negotiate down to your ballpark:

30 hits; there are probably rental buildings that are being missed here.

Here's a great apartment. under $6000 - 2 bed 2 bath - Luxury doorman building - 1735 sqaure ft.
