Discussion about
I have been looking for modern style casings (2 inches wide) and moldings (6 inches high) but to no avail. Any suggestions on where to buy them in NYC? Also, what is the minimum length for kitchen entrance? Is 29 inches wide enough?

Opening itself should be minimum . 36" would be better.

Sorry opening should be minimum 30". If you're changing placement of current door and job is being filed NYC will probably require 36" to comply with ADA

Mynycse,

Your best bet is using a mill shop who can make you whatever moldings you want.

u can get flat stock 4' or 6" high moldings from metropolitan lumber on spring st. as for opening, 30 is on tighter side and pending configuration you may need more for DOB compliance.

If you are trying to be compliant with ADA laws, 32" is your minimum clearance.
