Discussion about
can anyone recommend a real estate attorney? i live in downtown brooklyn (if that matters) thanks
Just did a Brooklyn closing (I usually work Manhattan) and my clients' lawyer was Apryl Hand of Lewis & Hand. From my POV she was very efficient and responsive. Don't know what she charges.
ali r.
DG Neary Realty
i defer to ali, but i've had great experiences with sandor krauss.
Not in Brooklyn but highly recommended and she does closings all over. Really low key and easy to get along with - Jill Ames. She works at Paul Hastings. 212-318-6948
Jonathan Helfer. He works at Katz and Matz. 212-244-4630. Nothing but great things to say about him.
i had a great experience with john serpico. his office is in brooklyn. 718-875-4003
I highly recommend Scott Konner at Konner Teitelbaum & Gallagher (tel: 212-697-8500). He handled my purchase of a condo in Manhattan, and everything went smoothly.
Highly recommend Robert Melamed (http://melamed-law.com). He's in Brooklyn and does a lot of closings in the borough. Very responsive, reasonably priced, will fight to get what you want, and willing to spend as much time with you as you want. He would respond to my calls while he was on vacation out of the country, even for non-emergencies!
I know John Serpico, he was seller's attorney on my purchase.
Nice guy and knew what he was doing, but was pretty slow on returning contracts and most other correspondence. Though of course that may have been by design.
Inconsequential sidenote; His mannerisms, voice and facial expressions greatly reminded me of the actor Oliver Platt.
Sandor Krauss! Absolutely the best. Speedy contracts, smart negotiator, pleasant to work with, reasonable and reasonably priced. He's been my go-to for years with much success. sandor@krausslegal.com
truthskr - totally agree on the oliver platt resemblance. he was incredibly detail-oriented which is what i wanted as he represented me on a buy.
I've liked and used Paul Wolsk - downtown too - he's been discussed here - you can search him. Very good.
Brian Kishner is the worst - A true criminal.

would be interested in someone experienced in the manhattan market
thanks

i just closed on an apt in manhattan. i was a first time buyer and he made the process very easy for me. stays on top of everyone every step of the way.
highly recommend. very nice man too.
maine...thanks, will look into, hoping for sometime soon
great market, just slim pickings
never use a lawyer recommended by a borker who is party to your deal--duh--or any borker--duh
