Discussion about 165 East 89th Street #4E
Please, Dean--give it a rest already. Spamming the board is a no-no here.
way to go moron mills. i can't wait for SE to throw your pathetic ass to the curb.
I'm not sure he's actually checking the boards. Perhaps we (or Streeteasy admins) should call him and gently let him know...
>>i can't wait for SE to throw your pathetic ass to the curb.<<
Oh I doubt Curbed will want him either... ;-)
i hope everyone gives the thumb down, so SE will see this crap faster.
looks more like a bathroom wall scenario.
"For a good time call......"
Can we all please start calling Dean at 3 - 4 in the morning. Thanks
Dean, oh Dean:
First you started 3 different threads and wrote the same tag-line on each :
"My job is to find you what you need."
Now it's "feel free to contact me..."
Bad copy-writing, Dean.
You still have not found my slippers, gloves and sunglasses.
So the contacting you thing is out of the question.
I disagree, Dean should do this, I as a consumer respond to blind cold calling ads, and view the senders of such as the most trustworthy of individuals deserving of my unaltered trust and faith.
Riversider: Contact him at 3-4 in the morning, as angray suggests.
He wants you to feel free.
You know, I have to jump in on this. Like everyone else, I've had my share of dealings with bad brokers. But I'm also in sales, and I've made a lot of money by being different than my competitors....by standing out, and fishing in uncharted waters. Sales is a tough gig. If you're doing it right, you're giving yourself every chance to get noticed by the one person you need to get a deal done. I'm not remotely interested in Matt's listings, but I give him credit for going outside the box. If these posts are against SE terms and conditions, I'm sure they'll put a stop to them. But if they're not; good job, Matt.

Uh oh, someone else whose spacebar doesn't work.
can someone show me a copy of the rules about what is deemed accaptable on this board? anyone?
I noticed that I mistakenly referred to Dean as Matt. Sorry. But to re-iterate my point for the slow ones out there....I don't think Dean's promotion of his listings are going to cause SE users to end their subscriptions. They're not nearly as tedious as those who spend all of their, (seemingly endless), spare time here. Can't you guys find a Tea Party rally to attend?
Truth, I would, but that would mean I'd have to be up at that hour...
Shilling yourself on a messageboard is "going outside of the box?"
".I don't think Dean's promotion of his listings are going to cause SE users to end their subscriptions."
What if every jackass that has something to sell spammed this board?
The OP's "going outside the box" reminds me of the uncomfortable desperation at the heart of Glengary Glenross. Kind of pathetic with about a zero chance of achieving results. Well, results beyond having this thread come up on google if you enter his name.

Nice job of proofreading his bio. And unusual concept of how capital letters are used in written English. Love the photo.
you know the more you post your just giving dean more exposure at the top of the SE discussion list. It seems like brokers on SE are like actors in hollywood, you all love to hate them, and you hate to love them...
bksfinest: by "you" do you mean generally all of us here or just me? Personally, I have actually offered defenses of brokers in many threads in the past and believe that blanket judgments aren't particularly useful. Here, however, a broker seems to believe he stumbled on the novel idea of using streeteasy like Craigslist. Had he taken 30 seconds to scan the threads, he'd have seen that is not what this forum is for. If every broker posted threads pushing his/her properties the forum would become useless. It isn't the NYT's or Streeteasy's property listings. So, having been a doofus and having attepted to use the forum as if it were a bulletin board for listings, Mr. Dean is catching some grief and ribbing now. World isn't ending. I don't think the "exposure" he's getting--if you can call it that since something like less than 3% of Streeteasy traffic ever even comes to the "Talk" tab--is helping him any and may actually have a deterent effect on broker's contemplating doing this in the future.
"Love the photo"
Is that a rotary phone?
Kyle: point taken. I thought this thread was another example of a broker being taken to the woodshed just because he was a broker. I get it now. At the same time, I can assure you that salespeople never know what's going to work until they try it. When I first saw the thread, I opened the link, looked at the listing, had no interest and moved on. But if it had been the apartment for me, his poor grammar and his goofy picture wouldn't have prevented me from reaching out to him about it.
i would love to see a copy of the rule that streeteasy has that says a real estate professional can not solicit business in this manner in this forum.
We all know there isn't one. Nor is there one on criticism, right?
i bet you there are people who post here that believe that that are rules.....
""Nice job of proofreading his bio""
Give the guy a break. He's from the G'Island. He doesn't know any better.
