LIC vs. Hoboken

Discussion about

I'm looking at new developments in LIC (Powerhouse) and Hoboken (Garden Street Lofts and Maxwell Place). Does anyone have a feel for which area would be a better investment. Wherever I buy, I plan on living there for around 5 years.

It really doesn't matter. Both are fabulous within the time frame you described.

I think that both buldings are nice but it is hard to compare the neighborhoods.
Hoboken is nice but it is not part of NYC. You need to take the path to get there. Nothing wrong with that but it is definitley a move out of the city.

LIC is just a subway ride away from midtown, the west side etc.

Trasnportation is a big deal to me in this city and LIC has Hoboken beat on that front.
