Wow. I mean...WOW. This is required reading. Why the Tea Party and OWS don't unite on this is just...wow. Long, but...WOW. "...Secret Fed Loans Gave Banks Undisclosed $13B [In PROFITS!!!] ...The Federal Reserve and the big banks fought for more than two years to keep details of the largest bailout in U.S. history a secret. Now, the rest of the world can see what it was missing. The Fed didn’t tell anyone which banks were in trouble so deep they required a combined $1.2 trillion on Dec. 5, 2008, their single neediest day. Bankers didn’t mention that they took tens of billions of dollars in emergency loans at the same time they were assuring investors their firms were healthy. And no one calculated until now that banks reaped an estimated $13 billion of income by taking advantage of the Fed’s below-market rates, Bloomberg Markets magazine reports in its January issue... ...The amount of money the central bank parceled out was surprising even to Gary H. Stern, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis from 1985 to 2009, who says he “wasn’t aware of the magnitude.”... ...Lawmakers knew none of this... ...Judd Gregg, a former New Hampshire senator who was a lead Republican negotiator on TARP, and Barney Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat who chaired the House Financial Services Committee, both say they were kept in the dark.... ...The secrecy extended even to members of President George W. Bush’s administration who managed TARP... ...Employees at the six biggest banks made twice the average for all U.S. workers in 2010, based on Bureau of Labor Statistics hourly compensation cost data...an average of $126,342 per worker...That’s up almost 20 percent from five years earlier..." http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-11-28/secret-fed-loans-undisclosed-to-congress-gave-banks-13-billion-in-income.html [less]

you're welcome.
he country, which acts as military backup to a lot of other sovereign nations who repay us with all kinds of perks and access. perks and access we would lose the second we stop being their muscle.
if this were true, i might agree. THey don't pay us enough. Yes, free gas for bombing Iraq in the 90s, but that stopped after we bombed them to smithereens.. then we had to pay again
"but that stopped after we bombed them to smithereens.. then we had to pay again"
i think in that respect the powers that be are following the ww2/germany playbook of destroying a country only to rebuild it as a natural ally. fwiw, i don't believe this will turn out to be the case with iraq. the war there served the immidiate and necessary purpose of forcing the enemy to engage our military overseas instead of our civians here. i think the war in iraq has already paid for itself in the prevention of american civilian lives potentially lost if islamist resources were not otherwise occupied in iraq. this is what i belive.
how many American Casualties were there in Iraq?
Why did we go there?
Where was Bin Laden Killed?
How many friends of yours lost their lives in Iraq? Would you support your son or daughter joining the military? Better yet DID you ever serve your country?
>How many friends of yours lost their lives in Iraq? Would you support your son or daughter joining the military? Better yet DID you ever serve your country?
That's the best you can do?
Hey lucille, are you friends with any [fill in minority, or majority for that matter] people?
don't believe this will turn out to be the case with iraq.
What is happening in iraq now right after we pulled out? Who is in charge Sunni or Shiite? who will gain power? you think they will be our ally?
The Neo-cons are clearly wrong..
i believe iraq has been a sunni stronghold for some time. it doesn't matter who i think will gain power in iraq. you said the military should be downsized and i asked you to please explain why your felt that way.
"Better yet DID you ever serve your country?"
nope. im a girl. i don't have to. did you? as a man?
There are ways for women to serve our country.
>i don't have to.
We have a volunteer military.

brooks
"how many American Casualties were there in Iraq? "
as i clearly stated above, the casualties we sustained in iraq were among adults who made the decision to go there. think of it this way, if the islamist resources spent in iraq were able to cause that many MILITARY and military support casualties, think how many civilian casualties we would have sustained had those resources been spent here. that's real, brooks. to deny it is childish.
yes. and woman(maybe not girls) serve in our armed forces too
Why do you feel the military should be downsized?
Please, no more compare and contrast. Sunni vs Shiite, women vs girls etc. Just elaborate on the point you made last night. Thank you.
"Why do you feel the military should be downsized?"
because not everybody supports war crime

years from now when this country is at war with china and some people will attempt to rewrite history by promoting the falsehood that Mitt Romney started shit with china, we must all have the honesty and integrity to remind them that it was, in fact, Barack Obama who took the first steps to militarize a strained but still basically civil relationship with that country.
Funny, it was originally Bush's Plan..

Lucille, certainly you should learn more about the Military before you begin to spout off about it.
remind me again when we ever conversed in the appropriate context for you to make assumptions about the depth of my learning on this or any other topic?
"it was, in fact, Barack Obama who took the first steps to militarize a strained but still basically civil relationship with that country"
I only need to listen to just about ANY republican in the House or Senate on the topic of China to know that you are full of shit. Its completely bipartisan. China is stirring shit up, not the other way around.
omg, relax jason, my comment was mostly in jest. Obama didn't start a war with china. that's been inevitable for a long time.
Well, we lost a good candidate today. How cool would it have been to have a president that speaks Chinese, understands global trade and the banking crisis and rides a motorcycle. To win in politics today you must either have no track record or come prepared with ducats of cash.
Right, Huntsman has no cash. And Governors Romney and Perry have no experience compared to Governor Huntsman, not to mention the inexperience of Senator Santorum and U.S. Speaker Gingrich.
The guy that washes my boat bottom speaks chinese. Rides a motorcycle. Pretty up to date on geo finance/politics.....
Wow you are pretty impressed with nutin, maybe a reflection of who you hang out with in the old age home.
why some retards think there's anything related to china or chinese?
the US has always been a war machine, we invested in the 2 world wars and a cold war, and became the super power, and now the tycoons want more wars again for more profit
Of all the candidates Ron Paul is taking the hardest line against SOPA. Where's everyone else?
