Hi I am thinking of renting an apartment in the MayFair on 69th and understand they are building an entrance to 2nd ave subway right on the corner. Am I crazy to do so? My thinking is that the apt faces the other side and is on a high floor. I would be leasing for a year right now. Any feedback from those that live there already or right in area. Thank you so much!

The construction is nonstop as you know. Patsy's Pizzeria recently moved from that location to First Avenue.
For a rental, it should be okay if it works for you. The area itself is convenient with access to whatever shops you need and not far from midtown.

This area is mess. I would stay away if I were you, unless you could stay there for free..

walked by the building yesterday on my way to pottery barn. its like they built a building in front of it....the structure is for trucks, so its huge...the warning sign says please shut phones off for the trucks that go in the strutcure in front on the building...this is for blasts that go on daily......
for an extra couple of bucks go somewhere else.....not worth it.....
