Rental at 645 North Sea Mecox Road - BEWARE!

We rented this property this past summer. The property is not nearly as nice as the photos suggest and the owners are unethical. Despite leaving the house in better shape than when we arrived, we never received our security deposit back. We recently found out that another family had the same experience.

We've rented for the last five years and only had one year where the landlord did not keep the deposit. This year we finally had it so we hired an atty and went to court- legally they are required by law to keep the security deposit in a separate acct and if they do not you are entitled to a full recovery up to 3k in small claims. Our experience has been that the landlords view the deposit as part of the rental fee. Finally, had enough and bought something. Good luck!
