Discussion about
Auction is scheduled of a Harlem brownstone used as a church, a Manhattan co-op, two Queens co-ops and more: http://wp.me/puZRS-4YB
It's no limelight. Worth about $750,000, in my opinion.
The auctioneer has it listed, meaninglessly, for $400,000 on SE.
400,000 is a fair price
Probably right. My guess is it needs 1.5 million and 2 years of work (thanks to the lovely people at the landmarks dept). End result is probably worth. $2.3 million.
maybe impossible to convert a church to family home
a possible work-around is to form your own religion and convert this church to your own temple
Finally, a witty, non-offensive comment from caonima.
Update: sold prior to auction at a hefty price http://malcolmcarter.wordpress.com/2012/01/24/buyer-is-found-for-bankrupt-harlem-church/
a trick to lure attention only
caonima, except the property has been withdrawn from the auction. what's more, the auction house did not announce the acceptance of an offer--I found out about the change in status accidentally.
