Discussion about
I am thinking of putting in a bid on an apartment. I am trying to find out how much the current owner bought the apartment for but it is not listed on SE. Is there another way?
Go to http://www.nyc.gov/html/dof/html/jump/acris.shtml Once there, click "begin using ACRIS" Most properties are listed here. You'll need the lot and block numbers first (you can look them up on the site too).
Despite other posters opinions, I believe knowing the seller's purchase price sometimes helps inform the buyer during negotiations as to where the seller is coming from. Obviously it has nothing to do with the actual market value of an apartment, though. As a general rule, information is never a bad thing to have during a negotiation.
Thanks Kyle. So I went to ACRIS and found the lot and block numbers, but where do I go from there to input the apartment number? I can't find that search feature.
Exactly Kyle. Information is everything! I am not sure what is wrong with the other poster but she obvioulsly has some problems. I have ignored her on here since I first joined.
Try propertyshark.com . You can see what everyone in the building paid and it is a free service, a bit easier to use than ACRIS (IMHO).
