Second Avenue subway blasting

I would like to rent an apartment on Second Avenue and 73rd Street and have been warned about the constant blasting for the Second Avenue subway. I'm never home before 7PM during the week and think I'll be OK. I'm more concerned about a HUGE rent hike the minute the construction is complete. Any suggestions?

I live at 69th and 2nd right now and I have to tell you, the construction is ruining my life. The work rarely ends by 7 PM, often going past 10. Last night it went well past 1030 PM. Starts early too - 6 AM. I can't speak for the price hike but it's supposed to end in 2016. If you can last that long with all the noise, more power to you. I'm just telling you as a current resident, it's a bigger pain than I was hoping it to be and is causing me to move.
