Prosecutors said Brown would target foreclosed homes and then pose as the owner of phony businesses called Prudent Constituents Association and Peerless Property Management. She would then record false deeds on the properties. She cut off the lock boxes on the homes put there by real estate agents, broke in and had the locks re-keyed. Brown then advertised the homes on Craigslist and rented them out, prosecutors said. She is accused of collecting tens of thousands of dollars in rent. [less]
