Discussion about
Does anyone know who Keith Jurow is and are his figures generally reliable? I thought he must be someone known for Carney to quote him extensively but he is unknown to me. http://www.cnbc.com/id/46310822

Calculated risk likes Tom Lawler, who was right on target in proving that NAR housing numbers were bunk. You want someone who is good at historical data and research. Predictions are just what gets you on CNBC.

guys, wake up, read today's finance yahoo headline, NY will join the 25 billion sweet deal -- another reward for the deadbeats and flippers
The same guy who made the same statement in May: http://www.businessinsider.com/why-new-york-city-home-prices-are-still-headed-for-collapse-2011-5
I think he is wrong. It will be a slow deflation of the bubble over several (more) years. If there is a collapse it will come from a Euro meltdown and/or China crash, not foreclosures.
Facebook employees? You mean the 100 employees of facebook based in NYC who will be able to cash in on their recently received stock options six months after the company finally goes public? Yes, that should be a big splash.
Malthus last comment was obviously aimed at another thread where someone posted same article.
RS: I posted this at 1AM and was too tired to research. Thanks for link. Now that I am looking into this guy, I am not seeing anyone disputing these figures even though they have been available for a couple of months. I know that CNBC can feature some alarmist views on both sides but usually they are vetted and questioned. And Carney as editor seems somewhat circumspect so it seemed that evening posting the article gave some weight to his numbers.
BofA Atlanta bldg sold for 1/2 2007 purchase price and 2/3 construction price. Flmaozz.
Nope nyc defies laws of economics. I hear the pinkberry owners will buy all of manhattan! Awesome.
W67: I love pinkberry. I think we should settle the argument this way -- let's get 20 or so SE'ers to invest in a pink berry. with the profits we can float the difference between $500 psf and $1000 psf

F'ing scary. but what's scarier? the stupidity of the bubble buyers or the plummeting prices?
