Anyone went into contract with the Jardin development in Williamsburg? I did. Now, 4 months later, they are trying to get approval to break contracts and give us our money back. But we've been out of the market since October since they had our money, and now I cannot find an apartment, even if I do, they still have my money!!!! Who else did this happen too?
consider it a blessing, but make sure you get some interest
You should have a case. Burg is in a bit of a frothy bubble at the moment so sitting out the market for the past few months has certainly hurt you.
You need to contact the office of NY State Attorney General. Good luck!

Seems like theirs a group coming together... http://ny.curbed.com/archives/2012/01/26/williamsburg_condo_jardin_refunding_buyers_going_rental.php#reader_comments
What does the contract say about the sponsors ability to not do a condo and refund deposits? If theso contract (and/or offering plan) allows them to decide to not sell, then they are not "breaking contract". It sucks, but if they have the legal right, then what can you do? If they are indeed breaking contract, it becomes much more complicated.....
It's the Universe giving you a second chance.
Take the money and run. Fast. And don't look back.
You're welcome.
