Discussion about
Morning! I'm interested in taking out a loan for a mortgage on a two bedroom apartment in Queens. Anyone know which banks are offering the best rates right now? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

It depends on what you are looking for.

Still too many variables. Type of property (condo, co-op, single family home, etc). Loan-to-Value ratio. Location (is it in NYC). Your FICO score. etc. Even with all that data, the rates are constantly changing. Maybe try this to look at rates, but it does not tell you which bank goes with each rate: http://manhattanmortgage.com/ratefinder.asp

stefanijoy, the best thing to do is just check with multiple lender. However, rates can change daily and sometimes they can change multiple times daily. One lender can quote you a certain rate today and another lender may be able to quote a better rate another day. What matters is what rates are on the day youre able to lock-in (after youre in contract). When comparing rates, make sure youre checking on the same day. sunny.hong@bankofamerica.com
