I'm seeing a lot of no-fee agency ads for these beautiful-looking Stuytown apartments, with util included for $2700. Is this for real? Whats the catch? I've never looked at Stuytown before...Also these ads don't match what I'm seeing on the stuytown website. Do the agents have access to some "other" batch of apartments. Anyone have any insights on this or Stuytown in general? [And for once and for all...yes, they are ugly on the outside, but I don't care. Lets move on from that aspect...]
They are probably showing you refurbished Cooper's village units which go for like 25% more in the ads you are seeing. If I had to guess. Brokers.
And yes, utilities are included.
No doorman.
the catch... you'll probably be living way east of first ave... transportation can suck... people will think you live in the projects... you might be living next to college students... you have to tell people you live in stuytown.
The catch is you have to live in Stuytown. But otherwise for a one bedroom that is quite possible and not that remarkable. I live in Union Square and pay a few hundred more and it is super nice. So over there would be cheaper. But awful ambience and bad transport.
If you work on the East side its not so bad, I suppose. You can take the first ave select service bus to mid-town east, it can be as fast as the subway if you leave before 9 AM.
But yeah its pretty far east otherwise...and it looks and feels project-y
