Is anyone can give me some ideas what kind and what color of wood floor is most papular? Where to buy the solid interior door,much heavier and better than homedepot? Thanks

Most of my clients, including designers and architects generally go with a dark color. Either Jacobean or ebony. I would call Manhattan Door Company (now they are in NJ) 718-387-7941. You can also try TruStile http://www.trustile.com/ a little nicer but more expensive

I would't worry so much about what's 'popular' but rather what will work in your particular space. If you want a classic, traditional look (say, for a prewar apartment) then I'd choose something on the lighter side like white oak. If you prefer something more modern, you could go with dark or even an extremely light pickled wood. Keep in mind that very dark woods will show every speck of dust. Same with extremely white floors.

As for interior doors, you can also have a nice solid hardwood door made relatively reasonably by a carpenter (this is what we did, along with a matching transom window, and it is absolutely gorgeous).
