Walked through the 1-bed "duplex" the other week (advertised at 1000sf and $495k). The square footage, which is probably padded to begin with, is a bit misleading because half of it is in the (predictably very dark) basement. So the kitchen, living room and bedroom are crammed into half the square footage of the apartment, and I'll tell you, a smaller bedroom and living room I've never seen. They had a couch in the living room that took up like half the room, and I can hardly believe you could even get a bed in that bedroom. Not impressed by the attention to detail either with issues like trim not attached to the wall. I really like Astoria, but come on. Who's dropping half a mil on this crap?
