Discussion about
I just had my kitchen redone and I have a fair amount of extra tiles--black and white glazed floor tiles and subway tiles and trim for the walls. It's very nice stuff from Country Floors, but it's taking up a lot of space in my closet. Is there a reason to hang onto it, or can I go ahead and donate it to Build it Green or a similar group?

It's going to be a textbook case of Murphy's Law, but I always hang onto at least a few of each tile. They'll come in handy if any ever crack or need to be replaced because of maintenance behind a wall or under a floor.

Even if you used a very common tile, like a 4" white square, newly-purchased replacements down the road probably won't be a perfect match.

My extras are under the kitchen sink, back in the corner I'll never use anyway.

Agree with flarf. No need to keep them all but keep a few. Our extra tiles are stored under the bathroo sink. We actually have two cracked tiles in the kitchen that need to be replaced, but we probably won't do anything about it until we go to sell the place. This way, I won't have to spend time hunting down matching tile (which may be discontinued).
