Seem. You mean seem.

Sorry, but that's all the help I can offer here. Maybe someone else can help you with the rest.

Honestly with the automatic spelling features on most devices now don't you two assholes have anything better to do than offer snarky douchy comments on the op's.spelling mistakes? Fuck off both of you.

I much prefer the Ikea stuff to Home Depot. I have rebntals and I tried the HD stuff and it damages easily; I expected the same eith the cheap Ikea stuff but it has held up. I also have some of the more expensive Ikea stuff in my main home and I love that too.

Honestly with the automatic spelling features on most devices now I would assume that people would learn to use them.

Seam happens to be a word in the English language. It is incorrect in the original sentence, but it is not a misspelled word.

Indeed. That's why human intervention can be helpful, albeit snarky, in such cases.

Lillian,

I agree with Tommy. Ikea is much nicer and less expensive then home depot. Also easier to deal with. I have several Ikea kitchens on my website under blog. www.primerenovationsnyc.com

Home Depot quoted me $13K for melamine cabinets. Then they quoted an additional $20K for installation. Ridiculous!! I was shocked, the home depot cost per foot is a crock of crap.

I ordered from these people through Costco and got maple with mullion doors, beautiful stuff for $4500.

http://www.allwoodfast.com/default.aspx

Did the entire kitchen; SS appliances, cabinets & granite counters for less than HD quoted for particle board cabinets alone. Order a couple of sample doors from allwood (which is all you'll see at HD) and they'll do all the layout and design for you for free.

So the answer to your question is "No".

I feel purchasing from Home Depot is not necessarily a bad decision. However, I've heard so many complaints about the contractors they provide. Because the kitchen designer doesn't visit your home, they must rely on the measurements provided to them by the contractor. When measuring, they don't pay too much attention to windows and window moldings as well as soffits. If you want a nice tight fit, where every last inch of your kitchen is made useable, they're probably not the best option. Lastly, the designer doesn't routinely visit the job site to ensure everything is going well. That's my two cents. Good luck with your project!

Thanks, I really appreciate the advice on Ikea, Ill try there too. And for Mr. Boss, I wonder why to choose this name for himself?..... I speak 4 languages fluently, may make some mistakes but here I’m in a foreign country buying some real state, what about you? What else you got besides time in your hands to be wasting on people's mistakes.?
I don’t care for your response, I have a lot to do.

That's Dr. Tweed, speaker of four languages (salut, guten Tag, hi, привет!) and always glad to be educated further in any of them. I think you may perhaps have misread my response to your question.

Enjoy Ikea!

Do you use toilet paper in your Out House in Columbia County? Or does toilet paper mess up the whole septic system so you just use your hands?

My contractor told me that a lot of the brand name materials are specially made for Home Depot to keep the costs down. You won't see the exact model number for Home Depot on the manufacturer's website. I ordered my sinks and plumbing supplies from faucetdepot.com since their parts numbers match the manufacturer's. I received a hefty discount and free shipping. We ordered the cabinets from WalzCraft directly.

Jelj13,

Your contractor is right. I hear a long time ago that little things are changed to make them cheaper. It might be a plastic knob on an appliance instead of one made of metal or a stronger material.

Home Depot is great for some things but I would not buy any finishes from them. Ask your contractor to pass along his discounts and you will find that you can purchase better product for the same price and get better service

I have used many kitchen materials from HD and they are quality items IF you spend $$ on them. Have your GC shop with you and let him work out the details once you pick out what you want.
I too have gone with Ikea and was not at all happy with their choices and quality. That and seeing them in too many mid level units.

If you are going to go shopping with your GC then you might as well go to higher end stores. If your Gc is willing to go with you they should also be willing to give you their discount. We get 30-40% plumbing fixtures and 20-30% off everything else.

Buca,

if you see Ikea in mid level units where do you see home depot cabinets?
