Do I need an architect? Any contractors' recommendations? A friend recommended a contractor who seems great, but he has no license and no insurance, so looking again. Nassau County, Long Beach may require license purchase. --Gut reno of kitchen --Gut reno of small bath. Move sink and toilet. --Add double French doors to a load bearing wall --Move a door in a non-load-bearing wall --Pull up tile and lay new flooring in entryway and hall --Remove paneling from den and put up sheetrock Any advice greatly appreciated!

You should sign up for Angie's List. There are a lot of legit contractors with A rating.
