Discussion about
Has anyone use metal/beaded curtains as room divider in an apartment? What is the best place to buy good ones? Thanks.

Beaded curtain? Really? Next time I visit my fortune teller I'll be sure to ask her. :)

What kind of room division are you looking to achieve? Those dividers don't block heat, noise, smell, or light.

ABC Carpet and Home has gorgeous room dividers make a silk strings. They are very elegant and perhaps a bit feminine, but if you were to purchase the black ones, they would be more "masculine," if that's the look you are after. The large ones are 9' x 9', so in most apartments, even in older ones with tall ceilings, they are floor to ceiling and look really eleant and beautiful.

Sorry for so many typos in my last post. Meant to say "made OF silk strings." Also "elegant and beautiful." Sorry.

Hi CrisT. I'm sure you could find them in SoHo at one of the fancy design stores, but I'm sure they would be VERY expensive. I've seen them in shows on HGTV, so I know they exist. Keep trying and I'm sure you will find them. Good luck.

It's the metal stuff like over-sized key chain that's used for heavy-duty roller blinds. Comes in big spools. I got maybe a couple hundred feet of it many years ago to cover a bathroom steam pipe, but don't remember where.

RIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll bet you could find it at Home Depot or Lowe's. Tell the salesperson what you are looking for and what you are trying to accomplish, and I'll bet they could direct you to the right place. Probably in electrical supplies or building material supplies. Best to you.
