Thats nothing new and has been happening over a year. But it is strictly oceanfront only.

Just spent the week in Delray and Trump Palace Sunny Isles. The security in Trump can be quite annoying needing a key to go from section to section. You'd think you were in a nuclear facility.

And FLL airport, OMG. Xrayed and molested. The terrorists have already won.

truthskr - was in Delray last week. Flew in and out of West Palm - really easy and nice. You should try it next time you go there.

PH41, yeah I booked late and W palm was 30% more.
Plus my sister is in Deerfield, brother was vacationing in Sunny Isles. FLL seemed easier.

Did verrrry well at the new coconut creek casino. Let it Ride has a new wager similar to Pair Plus in Three Card poker.
Hit 3 of a kind and a straight flush.

Walter,

Your blog post is the biggest pile of crap to grace this forum in quite some time. truthskr appears to have found the better, and safer, way to invest in South Florida.

Try Sarasota, FL. Beautiful white sandy beaches that do not compare, great sunsets, some cultural offerings, cheaper property prices, same FL tax benefits, less nightlife and related trash

Nice, truthskr. I don't play poker but I'm going to stop in at Coconut Creek just to have a look next time I'm around there.

Lucille, will the massive problems in Sanford, Florida as well as the controversy over Florida's "Stand your Ground" law have a greater impact on Miami, Florida real estate than one person in China have on New York real estate?

While I was waiting for the market to come down in NYC, I bought in Miami Beach. The restaurants are amazing! Great urban feel, if you like that. I feel like I'm in another country down here...English is definitely not the first language.

"... New Yorkers have recently been relocating their homes and businesses to the Miami area so that they can enjoy the fact that Florida... has homestead protection".

Walter -- are you referring to the Stand Your Ground law?

"When real estate was booming in Miami, investors were making an incredible amount of money with their properties and more and more people wanted to become engaged in the industry...This real estate was so popular because of the fact these condominium homes are in such innovative, new amenity-rich buildings in pre-construction right on the ocean."

Walter -- that's just terrific that people saw pre-construction as a positive building attribute.

We had the biggest housing inventory shrinkage in 2011 with -48%, on coastal areas prices are increasing. Builders started to build again. There is not much inventory on the coastal areas especially in new buildings.
The recovery is very slow in inner areas..
