How do I find out which lender holds the blanket mortgage on a particular building? I am thinking this should be public information. Any thoughts as to where I should look?

Go to ACRIS at http://www.nyc.gov/html/dof/html/jump/acris.shtml, find the block/lot, then scan the results looking for mortgages and agreements.
