Open question regarding leaks and co-ops...answers appreciated

Discussion about
If there is a roof leak in a co-op and the top floor apartment ends up with water damage on the ceilings, who pays for the repairs (to the unit)? If the co-op pays, is it obligated to restore the unit to its as-renovated condition (with an upgraded ceiling) or simply to its original condition?

I would guess you have insurance on you apartment. Report it to your insurance agency and let them fight it out. Hope you did report it to the co-op Board.
