Buyer Broker?

I am looking to buy my first place in the next couple of months. I was going to use a broker my friend used a couple of years ago who I liked as well. I've contacted him about this place I'm interested in, no response (4 days). The seller's broker has been very helpful and I'm thinking of using him as mine as well. I know it's not the wisest, but this place has been on the market for a while and I think they just want to get it sold. He was very upfront with what the place needed (I didn't feel he was trying to give me a sales pitch). Is there anything I should look out for in a situation like this?
