Where (in the city, NJ or LI) do you recommend shopping for a new Medicine Cabinet? Preferably somewhere you can actually touch and feel them. Or, if you don't have any store recs, which brands do you like (in the "better than Home Depot, but sub $1k" range).

Robern is a very good brand, you can see them at http://afsupply.com/ny/. I also don't mind some of the brands you can find at Gracious Home

If you want to go to AF you should make an appointment.

make sure you don't fall for Robern defogger pitch. it is absolutely useless feature.
