Discussion about
Need the expertise from this site again concerning two things. 1) since I am updating the tub/shower plumbing from the current 4 handles (2 for tub and 2 for shower) to one handle system, do I need to get a permit for this? The GC will be using a licensed plumber for the job. 2) when you receive the GC's liab insurance information, do you call to verify the coverage is still valid and for any pending and ongoing litigation? Thank you!

Hofo,

The building usually does not require you to get a permit but the plumber should pull his own permit, that is very different then getting a permit from the dept of buildings. It should only take a day or two and is not that costly

I am unable to produce a certificate of liability insurance if it wasn't valid and i believe if the insurance was invalid I think you have to be notified. You could call the insurance company to make sure
