They say that "no one rings a bell at the top," but in two days' time, a venerable NY-based investment bank has collapsed, and we've had a major construction accident that highlights the fast-and-loose developer culture run amok. Sure sounds like a ringing bell to me. Smart sellers will finally start negotiating at more reasonable asking prices, or else risk sitting on their properties right into the ebbing tide brought on by recession.
