Discussion about
Anyone have any experience with Hanssem or Brookhaven cabinets? Are they generally similar in quality level? Got quotes for a kitchen renovation -- one using Hanssem and one using Brookhaven and want to understand if I am comparing apples to apples or not.

I used Hanseem for a kitchen reno- i was very happy with the quality of the cabinets and customer service. Their designers were of excellent help and the cabinets came in exactly when promised!

Thanks. I tried the kitchen forum on Garden Web but not much on Hanssem and nothing comparing the two. We want to do painted white wood shaker style. I know white if not done well can look cheap and there can be peeling paint problems so want to make sure we go with the right kind. We also have a very short renovation window so cannot do a custom build.

Homehunter, we used Hanseem, and choose *somerset* cabinets, in white. Have had no problems with peeling. We also added some glass to the top panels of the very top of cabinets, looks amazing.

We used the Brookhaven cabinets and they are gorgeous. chose the wenge wood and had strips of stainless steel put on the cabinet edges so when they are closed you see an outline of stainless. I saw this done at the Woodmode showroom in the Architect/Design center on 58th.
