Discussion about
I am looking to have a wardrobe built for my bedroom, and possibly re-do my pantry closet. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have seen some cali-cloets which look great, but very pricey. Are there any good alternatives to them? FYI, I live in a upper east COOP. Appreciate the feedback.
Also, I was looking for a full service company. NO to ikea, Elfa, and Easy closets...
svengoli123,
I use a person who does something very similar to California closets but is much cheaper. Feel free to email me at primerenovations@mac.com if you want her info
I had my deep walk-in closet and my linen/bedroom closet done with Smart Closet Solutions.
http://smartclosetsolution.com/
they also go as http://www.newyorkcustomclosets.com/
They were super nice, professional, fast and it was the same guy from consultation to finalizing and installing them.
It was not cheap, and in truth I did not price it against Cali Closets, but well worth it.
I am thinking now of doing the last closet with them to make it into a built-in work/desk area, also.
I can definitely recommend them.
I also called up Jan Riese from NY closets, she was recommended by a friend, but did not go with her bc it was hard for me to schedule with them.
The above mentioned company really went above and beyond.
hope that helps.
I used cali closets as I thought it would help at resale (you know, when the listing boasts "custom built walk in closet by California Closets)... Long story short, they're not as nice as you'd think. Check out New York Closet Co. (212-439-9500, no site). They did a great job on my neighbor's closets.
if price is a concern, i rec anthony's closets, they do the standard prefab custom closet work, probably half the price of cal closets
the person I was going to give you is also from Anthony's closets. They are about 1/3 off of California closets and they are very good
Thanks so much for the reco's.
When people are looking for something less expensive than Cali Closets, we recommend and install easy closets. I see that you say no to easy closets, we were wondering why?
We have had quite a few satisfied customers, we have our own woodworking shop and also do custom closets.
If you need further assistance do not hesitate to call (718) 328-3519 or email us at minch@minchconstruction.com
What are peoples thoughts on Elfa from the Container Store. For a reach in closet that is 6 ft in width you can get a closet for roughly 1k including installation.
doesn't sound like a bad deal, but do yourself a favor and get an estimate from anthony's, they did about 6ft wide, double door, for $700, nothing fancy just floor to ceiling shelving in the middle and 2 levels of hanging bars on each side, material is the standard white particle board, has held up well so far for 2+ years, i found they also had good ideas on how to maximize space utilization
Anyone know a company that can also close up a door and throw up some rock sheet and put in a door? Or do I have to do a two-stage process? Reconfigure the space and then get the closet guys separate? Thanks!
