Discussion about
I am redoing my kitchen and replacing all the white appliances. I can throw them out but was wondering if any organization will take the appliances. They are in very good working condition.

lovetocook: Call Con edison. They will pick up your refrigerator.
You may get some kind of credit, not sure.
But they will pick it up by appt., on Saturdays too.

Sorry I don't have all of the info with me.
I replaced the a/c in my apt. with a new energy-saver, whisper-quiet a/c.
I got a $25 rebate by mail and the rebate check stub had that info on it.

If they're in good working condition, why are you getting rid of them?

Because she doesn't want white appliances.

I used green demolition when I gutted a new condo - they were lovely to work with, quite professional, and I wound up with a nice tax deduction at the end of the year. Highly recommended....

I third that. Steve Feldman at Green Demolitions is a great guy. You will get tax credit on the donation.
