a friend is subletting on a monthly basis and planning on moving out to a permanent rental on his own. even w/out a formal contract i guess people usually give advance notice that they will be moving out. wonder what timeframe is the usual, 1 month? 2 months? 2 weeks?

I would think a month notice would be enough. That gives the landlord time to look for someone else.

30 - 45 days! 60 days is pleasant.
