I've been a renter in the Sugar Hill area for eight years but it's time to make the next big step into a purchase. Since I'm a first time buyer, I'd like to find a buyer's broker but I'm at a total loss in how to find one that is comfortable with Sugar Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods (mostly low-income residential). I've seen suggestions on the boards to start with the accreditation groups but searches there haven't lent any information (recommendations for people in Texas?!?) and I don't have very many other leads to follow. I know the standard recommendation is to get personal recommendations but I only know one person who purchased in my area and she indicated that she would have fired her broker if she wasn't already in contract with her at the time. So, that said, are there any other resources available for finding competent buyer's brokers? [less]
