Brokers in Hamilton Heights / Sugar Hill

I've been a renter in the Sugar Hill area for eight years but it's time to make the next big step into a purchase. Since I'm a first time buyer, I'd like to find a buyer's broker but I'm at a total loss in how to find one that is comfortable with Sugar Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods (mostly low-income residential). I've been a renter in the Sugar Hill area for eight years but it's time to make the next big step into a purchase. Since I'm a first time buyer, I'd like to find a buyer's broker but I'm at a total loss in how to find one that is comfortable with Sugar Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods (mostly low-income residential). I've seen suggestions on the boards to start with the accreditation groups but searches there haven't lent any information (recommendations for people in Texas?!?) and I don't have very many other leads to follow. I know the standard recommendation is to get personal recommendations but I only know one person who purchased in my area and she indicated that she would have fired her broker if she wasn't already in contract with her at the time.
