Anyone have any thoughts on this building?
the neighborhood is so boring and the building has no appeal.
I don't know. A while ago I looked at a few units there. Thought the building was very well kept and a really nice lobby. The roof terrace was very nice. It does have quite a few rentals in the building and the area is OK. It is also a condup.
the rooftop pool is excellent.......but it seems expensive....
Looks like a lot of apts have own outdoor space too and laundry on every floor.
I saw two units in this building. Great lobby, nice terrace as others have said. Units were nice too. Overall a nice building... reminded me of the Vanderbilt to a degree, but slightly higher quality finishing touches.
Area is a little bland, but somewhat convenient.
What is that Con-Ed power sub-station in the back of the building ? Did anyone hear of any health concerns due hi-voltage, etc ?
Con Ed is gone from there. That whole site was sold and is going to be developed with high rise condos.
The Churchill is one of the true gems in the city. Condops like this are cheaper to buy then Condos but have most of the same benefits (easy subletting, buying and selling). The pool and deck are very nice - so is having laundry rooms on every floor. Having a building with a driveway can be a big advantage too. The monthly maintenance is on the higher side but so are the amenities. The location is very walkable to everything.
this is a dated crapbox... and walkable to "everything". This is a crappy neighborhood. 2nd avenue?
You're bragging about the ability to walk to, what... the projects? Tudor City?
Jackson Hole?
This building was an amazing place to live. However, the building manager Suzette is an absolute nightmare. She was consistently rude, mean and angry. Even something as simple as getting your thumbprint re-scanned so you can access the building gym would trigger her.
If you're new to the building or looking to buy a unit. My recommendation would be to stay on her good side but never..never.. ask for her anything! Go to some of the amazing and kind staff that work at the building. Everyone else who worked there when I lived there was amazing.
