Whole Foods signed a lease on 87th and 3rd...great news for the neighborhood. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390443854204578061032529621890.html
That's funny...,,, so expect RE prices to go up .,, hah. Lol
Not sure how thats funny...as if Fairway and the SAS wont do that?
We need more 7-11s

I always figured cuntersburg was pure trailer trash!!!!! LOL Probably buys his clothes on West 34th!!!!
Whole foods is totally overpriced. Go to Ctown or Crooklyn and buy yo stuff for less than half the price.
I think they are where Janovic paint store used to be although it seems a small space for Whole Foods compared to their other locations. Different items and price points from Fairway and close to Carnegie Hill. Good choice of location perhaps and should be popular in the neighborhood.
Whole Foods isn't overpriced if you go for certain items. Their prepared food is very expensive but staples such as milk, yogurt, OJ ($1.99 / quart vs $3.69 at Gristedes) is cheapest among supermarkets of that genre.
7-11s are too European. We need Circle Ks on every corner for all our beer and cigarette and scratch-off and crack needs.
I want more WaWas. Just because.

7-11s, by the way, are Japanese. They are making a resurgence in New York recently.
The mythical town of WaWa,PA (a custom zip code in the Philly suburbs -- http://goo.gl/maps/z226c -- not to be confused with the real town of Walla Walla, WA) used to have rented cows grazing on the big field between US-1 and their HQ building. Maybe they still do. I've been told that in some parts of the Mid-Atlantic states, the stores are known as "WaWa Huts".
Still waiting for the Piggly Wigglys that we so deserve in Manhattan.
7-Eleven is now owned by a Japanese corporation but to say it's Japanese isn't really accurate. It existed in the us for decades before it was sold due to financial difficulties. They were common in the northwest when I was young, along with the justly beloved piggly wiggly.
