do you perhaps know of a good resource which gives the required dimensions based on date built? And perhaps overall minimums that still need to be enforced today? (as in: I'm sure even if something was built in 1825, pretending codes existed back then, a 2'x2'x2' could not be called a "room").

The current Multiple Dwelling Law's room-size section refers to anything built after some date in 1929. I don't know whether they were regulated before then.

I really don't see why bedrooms have to be so big. Eight feet long, sure, but not eight feet wide.

I'd rather have more space in the living room and have the bedroom be bare-minimum in size.

Totally agree. And it doesn't appear that any renovation has been done. As well, it's a first floor apartment with windows facing the street. I tend to feel Corcoran overprices, but this is so overpriced that I tend to wonder if the seller is ignoring the advice of the broker.
