Lot next to 60 W 57th St (next to Rue 57)

Does anyone know if construction is planned for this lot east of 60 W. 57th Street? The lot has been empty for years and I walked by today and saw a construction trailer sitting on the lot. I live at 60W. 2 yrs ago when I was thinking of renting I asked the broker who works in the building what are the plans for that lot and he said it has been sitting empty for years and the owners of 60W own it and it is worth more money sitting empty (?) Any insight would be great as my lease is up in 3 months and not sure I should renew (I face the empty lot).
