Discussion about 1100 Park Avenue in Carnegie Hill
There're recent permits for an 18-story addition to be built on top of 1108-1110. There're stories in the Observer and Curbed about the 1100 and 1112 neighbors whining that they'd have less open space out their back windows. They were trying to get Landmarks to preserve 1108-1110 as-is.
1100 has no lot-line windows that'd have to be bricked up, but 1112's A-line dining rooms have one.
Also, 1112 is an L-shaped lot, wrapping around 1108-1110. The C-line LR and DR have four lot-line windows that now look straight out to Park. They'll be 30 feet from the back wall of the new 1108-1110.
is there a website to be able to look up the permits, thank you!
It's http://www.nyc.gov/html/dob/. Search by address for 1108 Park, then it's job 121138580.
I grew up in this building 10 years ago. It is in a great location but has some strange neighbors. There is one lady who sits on the sofa in the lobby all day and is sort of like the noise old cat lady. Some of the doormen are inappropriate, the super is money hungry and every winter there are plumbing/heating problems
