Is my personal info safe with the Broker?

All my financial and personal info were (obviously) given to the broker I applied for a rental house 2 years ago. I have since moved out of state and purchased a home and now my old landlord wants to sue me for damages (mainly weeds growing in the backyard and them having to paint 2 rooms) not paid for earlier in my Brooklyn house. Can the landlords now sue me for the place in Brooklyn if I now live in another state? Also, does my personal info belong to the broker or to my landlord? can the landlord request from the broker my social security number and banking info or is that confidential to the real estate firm?
