Landlord requirements??

So... we live in a not too shabby but not the greatest apartment... old appliances, old shower etc.... when we moved in the shower was moldy, we bleached, caulked the tub/shower seam with silicone all weather caulk and painted the shower with a heavy duty marina paint...(before actually even seeing the lease, so we didnt break the lease agreement) now, its moldy...with regular cleanings using... So... we live in a not too shabby but not the greatest apartment... old appliances, old shower etc.... when we moved in the shower was moldy, we bleached, caulked the tub/shower seam with silicone all weather caulk and painted the shower with a heavy duty marina paint...(before actually even seeing the lease, so we didnt break the lease agreement) now, its moldy...with regular cleanings using bleach or heavy duty cleansers... is my landlord required by law (new york state) to replace the tiling/wall surrounding the shower? theres NO ventilation system and we've beenn running a dehumidifier in the bathroom to help cut down the damp but...its not working... The wall oven in the unit also quit working, it doesn't warm up, it just makes a grinding/whining noise much like turning the key too far in the ignition in your car. is he required to fix that too? the stove has 3 out of 4 working burners (not a big deal) but Id like to bake and obviously the mold isn't healthy for any of us and especially not my kids... he HAS been told the shower is molding (again) and that the oven quit working, but we haven't heard back from him and we're afraid to ask him to replace the oven and shower walls lest he raise our rent (which he already did at the end of the old lease thanks to rising electric prices) we are struggling to pay the rent as it is, if he raises it again we wont be able to afford the rent at all...
