Hi, Im not from New York but I have a question on a particular area. I see this listing is on 720 east 31st, I cant find 720 on a map of manhattan? is that past first ave? I see some aves past first in some areas, like York ave. Cannot seem to find 720. http://www.streeteasy.com/nyc/sale/136570-720-east-31st-street-7k-flatbush-brooklyn I am from a small town in the midwest and am coming to New York to complete a few modelling jobs. Is 185k possible on the low end of Manhattan? Are those neighborhoods safe?

It's not in Manhattan, the apt. is in Brooklyn. If I were coming from a small town I would rent in Manhattan. Rent a small studio for $2k a month for a year. This will give you time to learn the city and see if you want to stay and where in new york you would want to live. good luck and welcome.
