Is there a way to search the sales history of an apartment on this site for more then 1 year. If not does anyone know a website where you can look up sales history for an apartment. Thanks

Not true. The "recorded sales" come from public records.

The NYC ACRIS database records info and pdf's of many sale-related RE forms and filings. I access the database smoothly by paying streeteasy $10/month to be an "insider." This reveals the sales prices recorded since Streeteasy existed (last couple of years) along with seller/buyer names and addresses, and by clicking through you get to the ACRIS database where you can get further info.
