AOL article said Merrill would be cutting 4000 jobs.
Bear Stearns will no doubt cut another few thousand.
Hard to imagine these tough times don't affect NYC real estate prices except for the super wealthy.

What are you smoking? 10,000 jobs cuts in Wall St in the past year will NOT affect Manhattan real estate, silly! Why would it?

Of course it's going to be lot more than that unfortunately, but it's the several hundred thousand more employees that are worried about their jobs that will actually hurt real estate even more.

There are always the cheaper listings on Streeteasy for the new dispossessed.

$80,000 350 square foot in Riverdale.

Street_easy, I agree with you as I am hearing Citi will come out and cut 20,000 people tomorrow

verain: comparing the national enquirer to the new york times? really undermines your credibility...
