I would not be worried at all about this. Unless, of course, your friend says you're a cat hoarder with bed bugs.

Maybe your friend put something in that letter he didn't want you to see ...

It happens. No big deal, just get a new one for the board package.

Perhaps it's an elderly person. I regularly deal with 80somethings and 90somethings who are self-sufficient, well educated, and intelligent, yet they can screw up the simplest directions sometimes.

If you bought the SSO on March 9, 2009, this would be the least of your worries.

It's probably a good idea to inform the listing agent of the snafu. If any action is required, she should know. In any case, she'll appreciate the heads-up.

And you know, this is the way proper reference letters should be handled, unreviewed and unedited by the subject. It ends up as useful as a bank appraisal.

Does the board actually have a direct mailing address? Most likely it went to the Management Co., who is probably not going to spend much energy trying to figure out to which transaction it belongs. If this is a decent size building that uses one of the bigger mgmt. cos., I would guess it might just end up on a pile somewhere. So you're bigger concern is getting it where it belongs. So as others have said, just get another copy and include with your package, along with a heads-up to the agent.

My former boss did this -- sent it to the board directly (which ended up at the management company). I just got him to send a new copy to me, and put it in the board package where it was supposed to go. Never heard anything more about it (and was accepted by the board).
