Advice on Replacing/Installing Wood Floors

I've been living in my one bedroom apartment for about 5 years and the planks of my floors have separated (some spaces are large enough for a high heel to get stuck). The floors are glued down without a subfloor (I think engineered wood). I am looking for an expert to replace my floors -- either by removing the existing floors and installing a new one or by intalling new floor on top. My biggest concern is finding someone that can be trusted to secure my built in bookshelves, clothes, TVs, etc. from sawdust since I'm living in the apartment. Thanks for any recommendations!
