He died four years before this building was built, so not likely.
Candela died in 1955, so it seems unlikely that he or his office would have designed a white brick box.
Oops, I meant he died 1953 NOT '55.

If it was a posthumous Candela they'd have played that up.
Maybe they're confusing their own building with 1 E 66th, which is a Candela.
It was considered good of its kind, in 1957. A NYT search on "165 east sixty-sixth" turns up some articles on that building and on the market then.
NWT: I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that the broker didn't just say that this building is a Candela. Though it'd be pretty tough to fool anyone with even a cursory knowledge of NYC architecture...
